Mrs. Tina Carmichael- Principal
With more than 26 years of service in education, Mrs. Carmichael brings a wealth of knowledge, leadership, and dedication to our school community. A proud graduate of Sevier County High School, she continued her education by earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Science in Human Resource Development from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She later earned her Education Specialist Degree in Administration from Lincoln Memorial University, further strengthening her commitment to educational leadership.
Mrs. Carmichael’s passion for education, lifelong learning, and student success has been evident throughout her career, from teaching Career & Technical Education courses to serving as an assistant principal at SCJH.
Mr. Chad Hodge- Assistant Principal
With 25 years of experience in education as a teacher, coach, and administrator, Mr. Hodge is looking forward to his second year with the Smoky Bear family. He received his BS in Chemistry and his MS in Education from UT Martin while earning his EdS in Administration from LMU. Mr. Hodge, and his wife Amie, have two children, Amelia and Dylan, who both attend ETSU.

Mrs. Beth Ownby- Assistant Principal
Mrs. Ownby has previously served as an assistant principal, a blended learning coach, and as a teacher in second, third, and fourth grades. Mrs. Ownby earned her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2006, her Master's Degree in Learning and Technology from Western Governors University in 2019, and her Education Specialist Supervisor of Instruction degree from the University of the Cumberlands in 2021.
Mrs. Ownby and her husband Jared have four children: Ella Claire, Judson, Aubrey, and Allie.
Dr. Conner Powell- Assistant Principal
Dr. Powell is excited for another school year serving as an Assistant Principal at Sevier County Junior High.
Dr. Powell earned his Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics with a minor in Education, Master of Business Administration, Education Specialist in Educational Leadership, and Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Carson-Newman University.
Dr. Powell and his wife, Andrea, an ELA teacher at Sevierville Intermediate School, have two children and are active members of Connect Church in Sevierville.
